Position Overview:
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin, you will play a crucial role in the F-35 Simulation Design team.

Your responsibilities will encompass the complete systems engineering lifecycle for the development of advanced tactical simulations, contributing to both the F-35 and Advanced Development Program (ADP) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


In this position, you will engage in requirements engineering and verification testing, supporting various projects and clients that utilize our state-of-the-art air vehicle simulators. You will collaborate with stakeholders, customers, architects, and developers to identify system requirements and ensure their successful implementation.


Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, providing them with the technical knowledge and expertise necessary to uphold product quality and apply systems engineering principles throughout all stages of the product lifecycle.


To qualify for this position, you must be a US Citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a US DoD SECRET clearance, as well as successfully passing a drug and background check to meet eligibility for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (preferred areas include Aeronautical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics).
  • Proven experience in navigating the Systems Engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis and verification/validation/testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multiple engineering teams.
Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in applying SysML to Systems Engineering tasks and familiarity with modern SysML tools (e.g., Rhapsody, Cameo).
  • Experience in developing System Requirements and their allocation to subsystems.
  • Competence in creating and executing System Test Procedures.
  • Knowledge of program and design review processes (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
  • Familiarity with DOORS and JIRA.
  • Understanding of Change Request (CR), Requirement, Verification, and Review life cycles (JWP, WPE, etc.).
  • Familiarity with F-35 Mission Systems Architecture and its subsystems.
  • Experience in developing model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models, including Use Cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
  • Knowledge of laboratory and component development.
  • Proven track record of delivering products to external clients.
  • Experience in detailed System Design development.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
  • A strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Effective planning skills, including logical task structuring and estimation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product development processes.
Security Clearance Requirement: This position necessitates a government security clearance; therefore, you must be a US Citizen to be considered.

Work Environment: This role will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule: Lockheed Martin supports various alternative work schedules, providing additional flexibility to employees. Schedules may range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week to condensed options, offering extra time away from the office in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour days, providing three days off each week.
