We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Counselor II to join our team at Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. As a key member of our behavioral healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing individualized counseling, group facilitation, and crisis intervention services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide crisis intervention services as needed, utilizing your expertise to support clients in times of crisis.
- Attend weekly individual and group supervision sessions to ensure seamless communication and collaboration with team members.
- Participate in in-service training and educational workshops to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
- Attend all required staff meetings to stay informed about agency policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Cooperate and communicate fully with other staff members regarding client behavior, progress, and activities.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner, adhering to agency policies and expectations.
- Exhibit full knowledge and support of the agency's philosophy and objectives.
- Maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Administration.
- Complete ASAM Assessments within established timeframes.
- Initiate Individualized Treatment Plans for assigned patients, working closely with Case Managers and other team members to address identified problems.
- Participate in Initial and Continuing Case Conferences within established timeframes.
- Provide regular, comprehensive progress note charting in patient records, adhering to JCAHO, State, County, and Agency standards.
- Facilitate educational groups using approved curriculum, according to program schedules.
- Schedule and conduct regular 1:1 sessions with assigned patients, at least weekly or more often as needed.
- Perform conjoin/family sessions as required.
- Review patient therapeutic writing assignments and provide assistance/feedback as needed.
- Attend in-service training and educational workshops.
- Interface daily with agency Utilization Review personnel and provide regular reports on patient status.
- Attend all required staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Administrator.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of an academic Addictions Studies Program.
- Certification by CADTP, CCAPP, or CAADE.
- 3 years of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
