Job Summary:

Bingham Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
  • Reviews prescriptions issued by licensed practitioners to ensure accuracy and determines formulae and ingredients needed.
  • Performs clinical evaluation of patient medications, as needed, and provides education to hospital staff, patients, and private citizens on pharmaceuticals.
  • Directs other pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, interns, externs, and other ancillary personnel in the mixing, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of outdated and hazardous waste drugs.
  • Enters appropriate information to maintain medication profiles, pharmacy charges, and inventory.
  • Assesses medication packaging to determine identity, purity, and strength.
  • Instructs interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy.

Requirements:

  • Current Pharmacist License for State of Idaho
  • Controlled Substance Registration - State of Idaho
  • BLS Certification
  • 2+ years related experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, and algebra
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasional lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bariatric Sensitivity Training Competency Completed
