About the Position

The Riverside County Department of Public Social Services is seeking a skilled Support Services Technician to join their Administrative Services Division-Facilities Unit in Riverside. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance for assigned buildings, maintaining repair records, conducting security inspections, and assisting with minor maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance for assigned buildings, including office furniture moves, equipment maintenance, and minor mechanical repairs.
  • Maintain repair records and conduct security inspections to ensure the safety and security of County facilities.
  • Assist with minor maintenance projects, including painting, cleaning, and minor electrical repairs.
  • Monitor and analyze building equipment and appliances to identify needed repairs or maintenance.
  • Prepare and enter work orders for repairs and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Three to four years of experience in building maintenance and minor repair work.
  • Basic techniques of receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and materials.
  • Basic techniques involved in inventory control.
  • Ability to perform semi-skilled minor maintenance work in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building plant operations.
  • Ability to read and write English at the level necessary for successful job performance.
