Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Excavation Superintendent to join our team at Hughes General Contractors, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate Heavy Civil construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Supervise and direct field personnel, including operators and laborers, to achieve project goals.
  • Collaborate with Building Superintendents, Field Foremen, and Subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and three-week construction activity plans to meet project objectives.
  • Ensure accurate labor and equipment hours, and maintain up-to-date job files and records.
  • Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and look-ahead meetings to ensure project success.
Requirements
  • 5 years of related construction experience, with a strong background in Heavy Civil construction.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to direct production work with confidence and a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in plan reading, equipment operation, and GPS-controlled equipment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, contracts, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
