Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Turbomachinery Project Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Engines business unit, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of engines and propulsion systems for our next-generation rockets.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems that will enable millions of people to live and work in space for the benefit of Earth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage schedules and budgets for engine development projects
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of hardware deliverables
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure hardware priorities are well understood and actively managed
  • Identify and mitigate risks to project timelines and budgets
  • Develop and implement configuration management systems to ensure efficient and effective product development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Turbomachinery or liquid fueled rocket engines
  • 2+ years of experience in design, development, integration, or testing of hardware in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to build trusting and effective working relationships
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of rocket engines and test facilities
  • Experience integrating subsystems into a larger vehicle
  • Experience implementing configuration management systems
  • Leadership experience in a technical team
