Physical Requirements:

This role necessitates frequent standing or walking while handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds; lifting, pushing, or pulling items that may exceed 50 pounds; and working at heights above four feet. The position also involves repetitive motions and occasional work in confined spaces. Additionally, it entails exposure to potential risks associated with moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials, as well as exposure to loud environments, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals, and potential injury from blood-borne or airborne pathogens.

Shift:

Availability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week, along with some weekends and holidays.

Job Summary:

The Paramedic will operate within a Level 1 Trauma Center, enhancing the nursing function. Responsibilities include executing patient care tasks through a collaborative approach with RNs, MDs, and other healthcare professionals, while organizing, prioritizing, and delivering direct patient care in accordance with established protocols.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

The ideal candidate will possess clinical care experience, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs; performing IV insertions, NGT placements, and urinary catheterizations; assisting with 12-lead EKGs; providing wound care; facilitating suctioning; and ensuring accurate documentation.

Preferred Education/Experience:

A high school diploma or GED, along with three years of paramedic experience, and current Kentucky Paramedic certification or licensure, as well as American Heart Association (BLS), ACLS, and PALS certifications are preferred.
