Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in comprehensive research related to the design, development, testing, and implementation of electronic data processing software.
  • Architect, develop, document, test, and troubleshoot application software and systems that incorporate logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Collaborate across disciplines with equipment designers and hardware engineers to plan, design, develop, and implement electronic data processing systems for both product and commercial software.
  • Assess user requirements; analyze system capabilities to address challenges regarding program intent, output specifications, input data acquisition, programming methodologies, and controls; prepare operational guidelines; design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensure compliance with software standards.
  • Evaluate user needs and software requirements to assess the feasibility of designs within specified timeframes and budgetary constraints.
  • Consult with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and other stakeholders to design systems and gather information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Design, develop, and enhance software systems utilizing scientific analysis and mathematical models to forecast and evaluate design outcomes and implications.
  • Oversee software system installations and monitor equipment performance to guarantee adherence to specifications.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required, along with 5 years of experience in software engineering development for host applications and/or embedded processing systems. Alternatively, four additional years of software development experience may substitute for the degree.
  • A Top Secret US government security clearance is mandatory.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux applications, systems, and API development is essential.
  • Current experience in reverse engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in conducting detailed analysis of wired and wireless network traffic using tools like Wireshark or other compatible protocol analyzers.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP and network-based communication protocols is necessary.
  • Experience with programming languages including Bash, Python, C, C++, C#, and the .NET Framework is required.

Compensation Range

The typical salary range for this position is $112,000 - $179,000, reflecting the expected compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.
