Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in research focused on the design, development, testing, and implementation of electronic data processing software.
  • Architect, develop, document, test, and troubleshoot application software and systems that encompass logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary research and work alongside equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and application of electronic data processing systems for both product and commercial software.
  • Assess computer user requirements; analyze system capabilities to address issues related to program intent, output specifications, input data acquisition, programming methodologies, and controls; prepare operational guidelines; design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensure compliance with software standards.
  • Evaluate user requirements and software specifications to assess the feasibility of design within time and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and gather information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Design, develop, and enhance software systems, employing scientific analysis and mathematical models to forecast and measure design outcomes and implications.
  • Oversee software system installations and monitor equipment performance to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct reverse engineering tasks.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, accompanied by 8 years of software engineering development experience on host applications and/or embedded processing systems. An additional four years of software development experience may substitute for the degree.
  • A Top Secret US government security clearance is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 4 years of extensive experience with Windows and Linux applications, systems, and API development.
  • At least 6 years of experience in performing detailed analysis of wired and wireless network traffic utilizing Wireshark or other compatible protocol analyzers.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP and network-based communication protocols.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience with programming languages including Bash, Python, C, C++, C#, and .NET Framework.
  • At least 3 years of experience with programming languages such as Qt and Meta Object Compiler (moc).
  • Proven experience in providing technical guidance to programmers to ensure project deadlines are achieved.

Compensation Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
