Job Summary

The Production Manager is a critical role that requires a strong leader to oversee all activities at the facility. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining an engaged workforce, effectively leading the team, and communicating expectations and goals to achieve established objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory.

Essential Duties

The Production Manager will collaborate with corporate resources to hold regular review meetings with senior leaders and all employees to drive improvements in the following focus areas:

  • Safety: Ensure strict adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and thoroughly understand safety and health laws, regulations, and coordinate and hold required safety audits to address unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Quality: Ensure that the manufacturing principles coincide with the company's vision, mission, and priorities, promote a culture of continuous improvement driven by the PSI Total Quality Management (TQM) System, and coordinate setup and implement operating procedures for all production activities.
  • Productivity/Schedule: Support the development and execution of the yearly manufacturing plan to reach business objectives related to production safety, quality, cost, capacity planning, and learn the operations of each job duty inclusive of how the equipment works and be able to assist in troubleshooting.
  • Employee Engagement: Establish trust and rapport with all employees through frequent communication, feedback, and follow-through, and identify ways to continually foster and promote a positive work environment.
  • Facility: Responsible for ensuring maintenance, functionality, and continuous improvement of the entire facility.


Required Skills/Abilities

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production processes.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable federal and state safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Flexible to do what needs to be done and cares about the company and achieving positive results.
  • Ability to understand mechanical processes.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean Daily Management principles preferred.
  • Demonstrated management of Key Performance Indicators and driving daily results: Safety, Efficiency, Attendance, Quality, Shipping.
  • Demonstrated experience hiring/training/coaching employees and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both tactically and strategically.
  • Basic computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Self-driven and accountable with attention to detail and accuracy, experience with time management and organizational skills.
  • Must embrace and foster an environment that supports the company's Mission, Vision, and Values.


Education and Experience

The Production Manager will have a degree in business management, engineering, or business administration, or equivalent (10 years) proven work experience in a production environment to qualify for the position.
