PACS System Administrator I Job Description

At MyMichigan Health, we are seeking a highly skilled PACS System Administrator I to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and maintaining our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Cardiovascular Picture Archiving and Communication System (CPACS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations and troubleshooting of PACS and CPACS, including associated applications like front-end dictation platforms and radiology reading stations.
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining connectivity between imaging modalities and PACS systems.
  • Provide robust support for PACS and CPACS projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Act as the primary departmental resource for data collection and system design specific to PACS and CPACS.
  • Lead design and implementation discussions, focusing on innovative solutions to enhance system functionality and user experience.
  • Implement critical design decisions, assuming full responsibility for application-specific outcomes.
  • Monitor system performance, managing work queues and error logs to ensure optimal operation.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve system issues, focusing on performance enhancement and user satisfaction.
  • Recommend and implement innovative approaches to system administration, prioritizing automation and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure effective communication with clinicians, clinical staff, vendors, and IT team members.
  • Optimize system configurations to support Tumor Board conferences and uphold privacy and security standards.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate at multiple organizational levels across the health system required.
  • Ability to translate clinician workflow to information system requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and participation in ongoing professional development opportunities provided by MyMichigan Health.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a related field preferred.
