Job Title: Direct Support Professional 2

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional 2 to join our team in Monterey Park. As a Direct Support Professional 2, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional 2 will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and advocating for the rights and interests of our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
  • Assist clients with meal preparation and clean-up.
  • Transport clients to appointments and activities.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client behavior or health.
Requirements:
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)
  • Must have First Aid / CPR and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a California Driver's License
  • Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work Environment:

The Direct Support Professional 2 will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
