As an Absence Management Specialist II, you will play a vital role in assisting employees with their Short Term Disability (STD), Family Medical Leave (FMLA), and American Disability Act (ADA) inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to associates regarding their leave of absence needs.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of regulations pertaining to FMLA, ADA, STD, and state leave laws.
- Handle a high volume of inbound communications while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Document all interactions in the leave management system clearly and accurately.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to leave requests.
- Organize and maintain leave of absence records and documentation.
- Review case notes and explain the leave process to associates and management.
- Coordinate with payroll for salaried Short Term Disability cases.
- Compile and submit employee data for state leave compliance.
- Monitor and track leave of absences, ensuring timely follow-up on required documentation.
- Collaborate with Unit Managers, Human Resources, and Benefits Teams to keep them informed about employee leaves.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in leave administration.
- Proficient understanding of state and federal leave regulations.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in customer service is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with FMLA, STD, COBRA, and ADA regulations is advantageous.
