Fleet Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Manager to oversee the entire life cycle of our vehicles, including budget planning, acquisition, maintenance, and termination. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in setting up standard operating procedures and managing a team of fleet services staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage fleet volume levels and communicate with Operations Leadership and Fleet Leadership to ensure levels are in line with hiring and replacement needs.
  • Develop schedules and procedures for routine maintenance and non-routine repairs of all vehicles in the fleet.
  • Coordinate pre-rollout vehicle preparation and ensure adherence to company specifications.
  • Liaise with fleet partners to ensure timely and quality work is performed.
  • Take ownership of vehicle incident/accident management and ensure protocols are followed.
  • Develop and enforce procedures, policies, and safety protocols for fleet services staff.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting on driver telematic performance and related safety data.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly equipped with current tags, registrations, toll devices, fuel cards, etc.
  • Manage Vehicle Pipeline reporting and keep accurate, real-time data sets on vehicle status and supply chain issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in fleet management or a related field.
  • Manager-level experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and enforce procedures and policies.
  • Experience with fleet management software and systems.
