Fleet Operations Manager

Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Manager to oversee the entire life cycle of its vehicles, including fleet budget planning, acquisition, maintenance, and termination. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fleet management and operations, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in time-sensitive situations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage fleet volume levels, communicating with Operations Leadership and Fleet Leadership to ensure levels align with hiring and replacement needs.
- Develop schedules and procedures for routine maintenance and non-routine repairs of all vehicles in the company's fleet.
- Coordinate pre-rollout vehicle preparation, ensuring timely and quality work is performed.
- Liaise with Fleet partners to ensure on-time and quality work is being performed.
- Take ownership of vehicle incident/accident management, ensuring protocols are followed and insurance/repair partners are informed.
- Develop and enforce procedures, policies, and safety protocols for fleet services staff.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting on driver telematic performance, past due vehicle maintenances, recall information, and related safety data.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly equipped with current tags, registrations, toll devices, fuel cards, etc.
- Manage Vehicle Pipeline reporting, keeping accurate, real-time data sets on vehicle status, expected deliveries, and supply chain issues.
- Travel to various worksites, vendors, and vehicle locations across Texas.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations and D.O.T. standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in time-sensitive situations.
- Highly independent thinking with stellar judgement.
- Mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn.
- Ability to prepare and adhere to a budget and monitor and reduce expenses.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite of Apps, including strong Excel skills.
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
