Fleet and Tooling Management

As a key member of the Blackstone Industrial Services Inc team, the Facility Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our shop. This includes managing our fleet of vehicles, tooling, and equipment, as well as overseeing the deployment of these assets to job sites. The successful candidate will have experience in fleet management and/or shop operations, with a strong understanding of industrial settings. They will be responsible for procuring new fleet vehicles, conducting routine preventative maintenance, and managing the annual registration and insurance renewal process. Additionally, they will maintain accurate inventories of tools and equipment, facilitate the procurement of new equipment, and conduct regular calibration checks. The Facility Coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating the deployment of vehicles and tooling units, preparing company vehicles for deployment, and monitoring job site schedules. They will work closely with project managers and team members to ensure timely and efficient deployment and retrieval of assets.

Purchase Orders and Shop Operations

The Facility Coordinator will also be responsible for efficiently generating and distributing Purchase Order (PO) numbers, accurately assigning purchased items to the appropriate costing accounts, and managing the receipt of ordered items. They will also oversee the issuance and receipt of purchase orders for shop-related purchases, ensuring compliance with approval protocols. Additionally, they will uphold cleanliness and organization within the shop environment, monitor spare inventory levels, and manage replenishment processes.

Supervision and Communication

The successful candidate will provide direct supervision and guidance to shop hand(s), monitoring their daily activities and performance. They will foster a culture of safety and productivity among shop staff, emphasizing adherence to established procedures. They will also serve as a point of contact for escalated issues and provide support as needed to resolve challenges.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional certifications or training in mechanics preferred. They will have demonstrated experience in fleet management and/or shop operations within an industrial setting, with experience in purchasing, inside sales, or inventory control beneficial. They will also have strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize.

The successful candidate will possess effective communication and interpersonal abilities, accuracy and attention to detail, and self-motivation. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, and be motivated, organized, punctual, honest, and quick to learn. They will also have a deadline-oriented approach and an aptitude for systems and technology, with a working knowledge of ERP systems.
