TD Cowen is seeking a Vice President to join its Financial Institutions Equity Research team, focusing on Brokers, Asset Managers, and Exchanges. This role is based in New York.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with a highly regarded Senior Research Analyst on various aspects of the research process, including constructing and maintaining financial models, conducting financial analysis and due diligence, drafting investment-focused research reports, developing and distributing industry surveys, and performing a wide range of industry analyses and competitive evaluations. The VP will hold significant responsibilities, gaining extensive exposure to company management, our Sales and Trading team, investor conferences, and the research methodologies employed by professional investment analysts to inform investment decisions and recommendations. The VP will play a vital role in conceptualizing, planning, and executing innovative corporate access programs.

Qualifications:
The following are the minimum qualifications for this position:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a strong GPA. An advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.) is advantageous.
- At least 5 years of research or related financial services experience (buy-side, sell-side, banking, or private equity), preferably within the relevant coverage area.
- Securities licenses are preferred (SIE, Series 63, 86, 87).
- CFA designation or CFA track is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Candidates may be requested to provide a writing sample during the interview process.
- Strong quantitative, financial modeling, and Excel skills, with a thorough understanding of financial analysis and the investment process. Candidates may be asked to complete a financial modeling exercise during the interview process.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in teams, self-motivated, demonstrating initiative, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- A keen interest in financial institutions, industry trends, and growth drivers.
- Proficiency in key databases, including Morningstar, Simfunds, Deal Logic, Preqin, Bloomberg, and Factset.
