Job Summary

The Menninger Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of our facilities, ensuring that all buildings and equipment are managed in a manner that maximizes life cycles and maintains or improves functioning levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately complete work orders and maintain all commercial kitchen equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment through the work order system and correctly identify and repair issues with commercial kitchen equipment
• Manage multiple responsibilities, projects, and tasks simultaneously, work under deadlines, and meet deadlines in stressful or difficult situations
• Exercise independent judgment and decision-making when required, with the ability to operate without supervision
• Accomplish small construction projects that require various construction techniques, such as framing, welding, and cutting
• Teach subject matter to others and train others through explanation, demonstration, or practice
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, welders, torches, and registered department vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
• Maintain HVACR systems, including completing inspections of HVAC systems per preventative maintenance program, correctly diagnosing and repairing failed units, and replacing key components when they fail
• Maintain plumbing systems, including completing inspections per PM program, maintaining proper plumbing operations, maintaining proper urinal operations, installing appliances and bathroom fixtures, and installing water piping and gas lines
• Maintain buildings in good repair and keep them free of hazards, in compliance with state and local codes and regulations, and the hospital safety policies
• Adhere to safety procedures as determined by departmental policy, in regard to the use of tools, equipment, and electrical safety requirements
• Respond to all fire alarms and emergency codes as assigned
• Assure continuity of Facilities Management mission statement through punctual, regular attendance, and reliability
• Accept accountability for compliance with Menninger policies and procedures, identify and report unsafe hazards to supervisor, participate in Corporate Compliance educational presentations, and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of relevant portions of Corporate Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct
• Actively participate in the Team STEPPS program and demonstrate an understanding of developmental tasks and special needs for, and the ability to establish rapport with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults/geriatrics
• Complete other duties as requested, including accepting additional assignments willingly, demonstrating an ability to perform a variety of duties, maintaining flexibility as departmental needs change, and demonstrating an ability to respond to changing workloads and crisis and emergency situations

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to obtain HVAC Commercial Service I certificate within 60 days of employment
• Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas and be insurable by Menninger Clinic
• Seven (7) years' experience in maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment in a kitchen environment, seven (7) years' experience in HVAC and refrigeration equipment, seven (7) years' experience in operation and maintenance of buildings, and working knowledge of national and state codes
