KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilizes CAD software to design facility modifications for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinates with architecture and engineering firms to establish design criteria and prepare detailed layout drawings.
  • Prepares bidding documents for construction and facility procurement.
  • Reviews and estimates design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, and other related expenses.
  • Monitors construction and installation progress to ensure adherence to established drawings, specifications, and timelines.
  • Develops criteria and performance specifications tailored to meet specific operational requirements and safety codes.
  • Plans, designs, coordinates, and executes facilities, real estate, and environmental projects.
  • Identifies project requirements and collaborates with internal teams and external consultants to ensure timely project completion.
  • Participates in the conceptualization of complex designs and modifications.
  • Acts as the lead for project teams within the functional discipline.
  • Conducts simple to semi-complex design analyses, including verification of estimates.
  • Engages with external design firms and contractors, as well as internal customers and departmental leadership.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Handles moderate scope problems where data analysis necessitates consideration of various factors. Exercises judgment within established procedures to determine appropriate actions. Demonstrates strong ability to cultivate productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Engages in creative and innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making capabilities. Typically receives general guidance on routine tasks and detailed instructions for new projects. May provide direction to other employees without disciplinary authority. Develops professional expertise while applying company policies to resolve diverse issues. Proven ability to consistently complete engineering and design projects valued between $100,000 and $500,000, often managing multiple similar projects concurrently. Strong knowledge of design and drafting standards, life safety codes, corporate environmental policies, and security protocols. Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in AutoCAD for producing engineering and design drawings. Demonstrates proactive problem-solving abilities and a quick grasp of new information, effectively managing complex assignments. Shows initiative in assignments, exercising independent judgment to execute projects with minimal oversight. This position represents an intermediate level within the field of specialization.
