Job Title: Information Technology Help Desk Support

The IT Help Desk is a critical component of Nevada Donor Network, Inc.'s (NDN) mission to provide technical assistance to computer users, answer questions, and resolve computer problems. As an IT Help Desk Support Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and providing exceptional support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems, ensuring they are running efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide technical assistance to users, answering questions and resolving computer problems via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems, and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
  • Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or provide technical assistance and support.
  • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
  • Develop training materials and procedures and train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Prepare evaluations of software or hardware, and recommend improvements or upgrades.
  • Read trade magazines and technical manuals; attend conferences and seminars to maintain knowledge of hardware and software.
  • Inspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to users.
  • Modify and customize commercial programs for internal needs.
  • Conduct office automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, space design, or cost comparison analysis.
  • Perform routine network maintenance and software updates.
  • Troubleshoot problems with the NDN network.
  • Ensure copiers and FAX machines are working properly.
  • Update phone system for employee changes.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures as set by the company, regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain phone system software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Education: Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: One to two years related experience.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient MS Office.
  • Certificates & Licenses: None.
  • Other Requirements: Must be able to work 6:00am - 3:00pm and take call weekends and evenings on rotation.
