Position Overview


The Overnight Conference Assistant (OCA) is essential in providing support to students, staff, and visitors residing in university housing facilities during the summer months.

During the hours of 12AM to 8AM, OCAs deliver exceptional customer service to guests and campus partners. They serve as a valuable resource for information regarding building, campus, and local services, addressing guest inquiries and concerns, and acting as the first responder in emergency situations.

Moreover, OCAs contribute to the Office of Student Housing by managing necessary documentation, assisting with departmental projects, and representing the department and university on campus.


Key Responsibilities

  • Be present and attentive during scheduled shifts from 12AM to 8AM.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to university students, staff, and guests in residence halls, acting as a resource for building, campus, and local services.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns appropriately, including facilities issues, lockouts, and emergencies.
  • Complete all administrative documentation promptly, including facilities work requests and guest occupancy reports.
  • Enforce university and conference policies and procedures, submitting necessary documentation for any related conflicts.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing training as directed by the supervisor.
  • Attend regular meetings with the supervisor and summer conference staff team.
  • Assist with various projects, tasks, and assignments for the Office of Student Housing as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision
The OCA is directly supervised by an Area Coordinator and indirectly supervised by an Assistant Director.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be enrolled in classes at the university during the current academic semester.
