Job Title: Turf Management Assistant
Classification: Non-Exempt / Full-time (40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $45,760 ($22/hour)
Reports to: Director of Horticulture

Overview
The Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation (BBP) is a not-for-profit entity dedicated to the design, construction, and management of Brooklyn Bridge Park, an expansive 85-acre, 1.3-mile park that enhances the Brooklyn waterfront. This project is vital for providing essential open space for the residents of Brooklyn and New York City, contributing to the revitalization of the waterfront and transforming it into a recreational haven.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm.
  • Conduct daily turf care activities including mowing and trimming.
  • Manually remove invasive broadleaf plants from grassy areas.
  • Supervise volunteer teams during turf maintenance initiatives.
  • Execute precise tasks such as edging valve boxes, weeding small patches, hand watering, and filling in depressions.
  • Maintain and service turf maintenance equipment.
  • Assist with aeration and seeding processes.
  • Support other horticultural operations and duties as required.
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Driver's license.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical requirements include frequent standing and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
