About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Turf Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Brooklyn Bridge Park. As a key member of our horticulture team, you will be responsible for ensuring the park's turf areas are well-maintained and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily turf maintenance tasks, including mowing, string trimming, and hand-pulling of invasive plants
  • Oversee volunteer groups on turf maintenance projects and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Maintain and clean turf equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and other machinery
  • Assist in aerification and seeding of turf areas
  • Perform other horticulture-related tasks as needed, including weeding, edging, and hand-watering
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor in a fast-paced outdoor environment
