Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the back of house operations.
  • Oversee the culinary team at both Walter's and our izakaya concept.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and enjoyment within the kitchen.
  • Coach and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience managing a team of 25+ kitchen staff.
  • Possession of a valid NYC Food Handlers Card.
  • Professional demeanor and punctuality.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks such as inventory management and scheduling.
  • Awareness of current culinary trends and best practices.
  • Commitment to maintaining outstanding health and safety standards.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the kitchen.
