Key Responsibilities:

  • Drug Therapy Evaluation: Serve as a resource for healthcare providers and evaluate the appropriateness of drug therapy for patients.
  • Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Prepare, manufacture, compound, repackage, relabel, and dispense medications, intravenous fluids, and other pharmaceutical products in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Education and Training: Maintain a strong foundation in pharmacy practice and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and training.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Credentials: Board of Pharmaceutical Specialty (BPS) certification or equivalent in the relevant practice specialty.
  • License: Valid North Carolina license to practice pharmacy.
  • Continuing Education: Complete a minimum of 20 hours of ACPE-approved continuing education annually.
  • ACLS Certification: Obtain ACLS certification within one year of hire and maintain it throughout your tenure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: Hospital experience, pharmacy practice, or specialty residency.
  • Certification: BPS specialty certification or completion of at least two approved certificate programs pertinent to the specialty practice area.
