Key Responsibilities

  • Execute intricate design assignments and produce drawings utilizing computer-aided design (CADD) for transportation, site development, and stormwater enhancement projects in Microstation OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Direct and coordinate design teams effectively.
  • Oversee the preparation of comprehensive design documents, cost assessments, and specific provisions.
  • Create technical memorandums and other written documents.
  • Manage design activities and identify potential changes and risks.
  • Assess client needs and assist in developing scopes, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior personnel.
  • Leverage client relationships to support WSP's business development objectives.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • P.E. registration in Ohio or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  • Over 7 years of experience in transportation or civil engineering.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication abilities.
  • Proven experience in leading design initiatives and managing junior design teams.
  • Proficiency in Microstation OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Capability to implement WSP's Quality Control Procedures.
  • Demonstrated ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • History of maintaining workplace safety and compliance with WSP's health, safety, and anti-harassment policies.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading and mentoring teams.
  • Familiarity with OpenRoads and Civil 3D.
  • Leadership experience with ODOT and local agencies.
  • Background in business development.
  • Active participation in local professional organizations.
