Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our team at the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida. As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of our agency aircraft are performed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on agency aircraft
  • Inspect and diagnose issues with aircraft systems and components
  • Repair and replace defective components as needed
  • Perform structural repairs, modifications, and painting on all aircraft
  • Work independently with limited supervision and take initiative to complete tasks
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated
  • No illegal drug usage within the last year; other drug usage will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
  • Associate's degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
  • Must have a valid Florida driver's license and attend and successfully complete the agency-sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if assignment includes driving agency vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining and repairing Bell 206/407 Models and Cessna 172/182/206/208 Models
  • FAA Inspection Authorization
