About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to join our team at Transdev in Bridgeport, CT. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our transportation services, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all contractual services, including operations, administrative functions, and information systems.
  • Provide oversight of safety, training, and maintenance departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures and policies.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain company and contractual assets (vehicles, facilities, inventories, tools, and equipment).
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, ADA, and EEOC).
  • Analyze, prepare, and develop budgets and forecasts.
  • Assess resource needs, problems, and trends and plan accordingly.
  • Develop action plans to ensure customer retention.
  • Assure a safe working environment.
  • Provide and promote effective communications with customers.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to develop location and company bench strength.
  • Establish training goals and requirements for all personnel.
  • Satisfy client, corporate, and contractual reporting requirements and needs.
  • Assist in technical sales support and develops sales leads.
Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required/bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Requires 3-5 years of recent and relevant direct experience managing all aspects of a paratransit and fixed route service.
  • Prior experience working with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Computer literate with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Must have evidence of building solid relationships with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Successful track record in managing budgets and/or P&L responsibility.
