About the Role

James Madison University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Worker to join our team. As a Housekeeping Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular and special cleaning of assigned areas using manual tools and power equipment.
  • Understand and practice all university safety procedures, particularly as they relate to equipment operation and chemical use.
  • Participate in the university's trash/recycling program.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve cleaning goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding job duties with or without an accommodation.
  • Ability to work with industrial-strength chemicals and equipment.
  • Ability to clean materials containing bloodborne pathogens.
  • Effective time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and basic customer service aptitude.
