The successful candidate will play a key role in advising on the strategy, planning, and implementation of BNY Mellon's technology projects and adoption of emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Advising on the development and deployment of digital products and services, in collaboration with Risk, Compliance, and Legal colleagues.
- Keeping up-to-date on legal and regulatory developments in the financial services sector involving technology/emerging technologies and advising senior stakeholders on their potential impact to BNY Mellon and its subsidiaries.
- Providing legal support in responding to regulatory examinations and inquiries.
- Advising on open-source software use, ensuring compliance with licenses, mitigating risks, and safeguarding BNY Mellon's intellectual property.
- Developing and leading training programs to educate various stakeholders on technology/emerging technology-related legal issues.
- Collaborating with public affairs, regulatory, and regional colleagues to engage in the review and consultation of legislative policies and proposals related to technology.
- 3-7 years' experience in a similar role.
- A strong working knowledge of technology laws.
- Knowledge of emerging technology developments and use cases in the financial services sector is desirable.
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Must be articulate, organized, and able to work in a collaborative manner.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
