Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Client Trust Accounting Specialist to join our team at HOME OF HOPE, INC. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing client trust fund requests, maintaining accurate records, and preparing financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process client trust fund requests in accordance with HOME OF HOPE, INC. policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client trust fund transactions.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to program managers, parents/guardians, and case managers.
- Work with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure timely deposits and accurate trust account balances.
- Monitor account balances for excess or negative amounts and notify the Financial Services Manager as needed.
- Track recurring or monthly payments to ensure all amounts owed are paid in full.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, including DDSD, Social Security, and financial auditors, as necessary.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, the ideal candidate will have:
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial reports, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting software, database software, human resource systems, internet software, payroll systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
Work Environment:
- The work environment is typically quiet.
