The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a dedicated Court Designated Worker to join our Family and Juvenile Services team. This role is vital in supporting the juvenile justice system and ensuring the well-being of youth in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process public and status offense complaints related to juveniles.
- Coordinate placements for juveniles taken into custody by law enforcement.
- Conduct preliminary inquiries on complaints filed against minors.
- Advise on formal processing or informal resolutions of cases.
- Develop and oversee diversion agreements for youth.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Compile and analyze statistical data related to juvenile cases.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education: Associate's Degree required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is necessary. Alternatively, a High School Diploma combined with three years of job-related experience may be accepted.
Special Requirements: Candidates should possess a solid understanding of juvenile delinquency concepts and the juvenile justice process. Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills are essential, along with the ability to organize and schedule program-related meetings and events.
Working ConditionsThis position requires flexibility, including availability for on-call duties during days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The role involves performing tasks in an office or facility setting, with occasional travel required.
