Forensic Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II Forensic professional to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a Clinical Nurse II Forensic, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the prevention of illness and injury.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver and accurately document direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Anticipate changes in patient situations and intervene appropriately.
- Provide direction, education, and serve as a role model in a clinical setting.
- Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
- AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
- 12 to 24 months RN experience.
- Academic Health Care Experience.
- Experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice.
- Diploma or Associate's Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the corresponding state's Board of Nursing.
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program.
This role requires the ability to work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work, may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
