About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Splicer III to join our team at Velox. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading high-level splicing projects and maintaining fiber optic networks throughout the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Termination and Testing: Terminate and test fiber optic networks according to engineered drawings, including aerial, underground, and ISP networks.
  • Cable Preparation and Splicing: Prepare and splice all cables, enclosures, and racks to ensure optimal network performance.
  • OTDR Testing and Cable Identification: Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, and identify and label cables and terms to ensure accurate network mapping.
  • Troubleshooting and Auditing: Troubleshoot enclosures and perform audits on various splicing projects to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Project Tracking and Communication: Provide accurate and up-to-date project tracking information and production sheets, and communicate effectively with project engineers, managers, and the general public.
  • Team Support: Assist other team members with advanced splicing or project challenges to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • Advanced Fiber Splicing Skills: Possess advanced fiber splicing skills and knowledge of fiber optic networks.
  • Leadership and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail and Teamwork: Possess a detail-oriented mindset and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets, and able to lift over 75 lbs.
  • Adaptability: Be adaptable and able to adjust to changing project requirements and priorities.
