Position Title: Music Education Specialist

Reports to: General Manager/Music Director

At School of Rock, we pride ourselves on being the pioneering interactive music academy established in 1998. With a vast network of over 240 locations and a globally recognized brand, we stand as the foremost provider of after-school music education. Our mission is to empower young individuals to discover their musical talents and express themselves creatively.

The Music Education Specialist is responsible for guiding students through a diverse range of musical genres, from classic rock to contemporary hits. This role involves fostering a supportive and engaging atmosphere where students can explore their musical abilities and embark on an enriching musical journey.

To achieve this, the Specialist will oversee all aspects of music education during lessons. They will design dynamic and engaging lesson plans that challenge and inspire students, ensuring that each lesson is a valuable learning experience.

Our curriculum focuses on five core areas: keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. Many of our educators possess a wide array of musical skills, which we actively encourage to enhance the learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the quality of music instruction, including individual lessons and performances.
  • Ensure students grasp the fundamentals of music theory alongside song repertoire.
  • Develop and document comprehensive lesson plans tailored to student needs.

Community Engagement:

  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
  • Be present and approachable within the school environment for both parents and students.
  • Assist with program execution during lesson cancellations.
  • Support rehearsals and contribute to the upkeep of the school.
  • Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in music education or professional performance.
  • Strong understanding of music theory and curriculum development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in customer relations.
  • Resourceful and adept at problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
  • Ideal candidates are active musicians with formal music education.
