Job Title: Director, Center for Retention Services

Join Bethune-Cookman University as the Director of the Center for Retention Services, a key role in ensuring student success and retention. As a member of the Office of Student Success & Retention Services, you will lead a team of retention specialists in providing academic support services to students from enrollment to graduation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement retention initiatives to enhance student success and retention rates.
  • Supervise staff and oversee the management of the Retention Center, ensuring effective delivery of academic support services.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to resolve student issues related to retention and provide case conferences to develop and implement Academic Plans for student success.
  • Track and analyze retention and attrition data to identify trends and potential solutions, notifying Success Coaches, academic advisors, and faculty of student issues.
  • Update and maintain the Retention Services Operations Manual and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in retention and/or academic advising, with supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research and assessment methods, as well as student learning and program outcomes evaluation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Jenzabar admission, registration, and advising modules, including J1 Web advising.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressures.
