We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team at MidFlorida Credit Union. As an Inside Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for generating first mortgage real estate loans from our field of membership, reviewing pre-qualifications, and processing referrals and online applications.
Key Responsibilities- Loan Origination: Generate first mortgage real estate loans from our field of membership, ensuring compliance with secondary market guidelines.
- Pre-Qualification Review: Review pre-qualifications to determine appropriate programs and products for clients, issuing prequalification letters and disclosures as needed.
- Loan Processing: Process referrals and online applications, reviewing credit reports and locking in loans with secondary market (if applicable).
- File Auditing: Audit files for complete information and compliance with secondary market guidelines, providing good faith estimates, truth-in-lending, and other disclosures to borrowers within 3 business days of application.
- Professional Image: Present a neat and professional personal appearance, in accordance with credit union professional image standards.
- Sound Judgment: Exercise sound judgment and discretion while remaining compliant with well-defined limits and guidelines.
- Integrity and Trustworthiness: Exhibit a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism always.
- Positive Attitude: Exude a positive and professional attitude with members and partners consistently.
- Customer Service: Develop a strong understanding of customer-facing technology with the ability to discuss with and enroll members in self-service options.
- Support: Support assigned branches and members in all mortgage lending needs.
- Customer Service Skills: Possess excellent customer service skills along with strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Loan Origination Experience: 3 years of government (FHA/VA/USDA) and conventional loan origination experience.
- Real Estate Market Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of the real estate market and thorough understanding of Federal and State mortgage regulations.
- Loan Underwriting: Experience with loan underwriting and secondary market guidelines.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in the use of computers, the internet, and Microsoft Office.
- SAFE Act Registration: The eligibility to meet the requirements of the SAFE Act to be registered as an MLO with NMLS.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
