Project Engineer 2

i+iconSOUTHEAST is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer 2 to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of a construction project, including financial administration, cost reporting, and field activities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the ordering of materials needed to successfully execute the project.
- Verify accurate payment of subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Assemble construction financial data; monitor costs; track costs for force accounts.
- Maintain job costing system and update systems to reflect forecasts; create margin reporting.
- Participate in developing, maintaining, and revising the project schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
- Manage the relationship and work of assigned sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Assist with constructability reviews and value engineering functions.
- Mentor and guide less experienced Project Engineers.
- Demonstrate, communicate, and reinforce Company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the work is being built to the most up-to-date drawings, specs., addendum, standards, etc.
- Assist in Quality Control activities.
- A minimum of 6 years of field construction experience and to include projects $100M+ and Alternative Delivery (Design-Build, CM/GC, Progressive Design-Build, etc).
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
- E.I.T. preferred but not required.
- Ability to mentor less experienced personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret plans.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Thorough understanding of cost analysis and estimating.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to carry tools and equipment, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction), stand; walk, (stand for long periods of time) handle, or feel; use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
The employee must frequently work or walk on uneven ground and is required to always wear steel-toed boots. It is mandatory that the employee wear approved personal protective equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Perform a variety of duties while exposed to outside elements or confined spaces. Repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures and evaluate information using measurable. Follow set procedures and standards.
