Vaco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indirect Procurement Category Manager to join our team in the Americas Region. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for designing and executing sourcing strategies to increase procurement coverage, ensuring competitive advantage and sustainable year-on-year improvements in terms of cost, quality, service, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute various sourcing strategies to increase procurement coverage in the Americas, ensuring competitive advantage and sustainable year-on-year improvements in terms of cost, quality, service, and innovation.
  • Lead and execute sourcing projects including strategy development, supplier negotiation, award recommendations, business case presentations, risk management, and contract execution.
  • Perform total cost of ownership evaluations and supply-market research, and conduct pricing audits and impact analysis in the pursuit of continuous cost improvements
  • Develop and maintain vendor scorecards relating to quality, value, performance, and customer service.
  • Identify and resolve strategic supplier performance issues to ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • Degree in an industrial, supply chain, or engineering discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience with indirect procurement of materials and services
  • Professional certifications preferred – (i.e., CPM, APICS, CPSM, CIPS, 6Sigma)
  • Significant category experience in sourcing, contracting, implementation, and project management within a Fortune 500 company, consultancy, or large service industry company
  • Knowledge of recent and relevant contract language and regulatory requirements
  • Proven experience in designing and executing sourcing strategies that consistently deliver measurable bottom line cost savings
  • Expert negotiator and influencer with multi-site implementation experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communication, networking, and influencing across an organization
  • Highly numerate with advanced experience in Excel and manipulating large databases of information
  • Creative outlook when problem solving
  • Excited by innovation and new opportunities – a strategic thinker, self-starter willing to initiate, plan, and drive results.
