Apartment Leasing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Leasing Consultant at Grand Vistas at Dreaming Creek, an apartment community in Lynchburg, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for marketing the apartment community, presenting its features and benefits to prospective residents, and securing lease agreements from qualified individuals.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with a high level of energy and commitment to high performance in a fast-paced, multi-task work environment. You must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Qualifying prospective residents, determining their needs and preferences, and professionally presenting the community and specific apartments.
- Answering incoming phone calls, handling each call accordingly, and transferring calls to the Community Manager when necessary.
- Maintaining awareness of local market conditions and trends, contributing ideas to the Community Manager for marketing the property and improving resident satisfaction.
- Completing lease applications, assisting with application verification, and notifying prospective residents of results.
- Completing lease paperwork, including related addenda, and accepting rents and deposits.
- Inspecting the property when on grounds, picking up litter, and reporting any service needs to the maintenance staff.
- Assisting the Community Manager in preparing daily and weekly reports, resident communications, move-out inventory, market surveys, and other tasks as assigned.
- Ensuring all rental practices comply with federal, state, and local laws.
- Providing excellent customer service to residents.
Requirements:
- A valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.
- Ability to utilize personal transportation to inspect the apartment community and surrounding neighborhoods, make trips to the bank, attend offsite meetings, and visit the corporate office.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Yardi and LIHTC programs preferred.
