Job Summary

The Senior Patient Safety Specialist will support the Sr. Manager of Patient Safety, Risk, and PFR at CDH to oversee and manage hospital-wide patient safety initiatives. This role will focus on carrying out Equity Informed High Reliability concepts and collaborating with other Directors, Managers, hospital leadership, and staff in the Department of Quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate patient safety event management, including facilitating internal medical peer review processes and analyzing serious patient concerns.
  2. Identify trends and improve clinical quality systems and performance by collecting data and other supportive information.
  3. Participate in the analysis of adverse events and serious patient concerns, and follow-up visits of regulatory or accreditation agencies.
  4. Safeguard, preserve, and maintain confidentiality of all peer review, performance improvement, and risk management information.
  5. Recommend corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk and collaborate with CRICO and hospital-based improvement teams on interventions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, or a related field, and 3-5 years of progressive healthcare experience. You will also need strong clinical background, presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills, project management skills, and computer and Internet skills.

Advanced knowledge of MS Office products is essential for success in this position. You must also be available to work in the case of a hospital declared emergency and assist during regulatory agency reviews.
