Respiratory Research Physiologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Research Physiologist II to join our team at Leidos Holding. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting research in respiratory physiology and performance issues related to the Navy.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct scientific research in respiratory physiology and performance issues of interest to the Navy.
- Assist other investigators in the design and execution of research protocols on respiratory physiology and performance issues.
- Develop and assist in the development of presentations, publications, and other products for non-research technical and general audiences.
- Report outcomes and recommendations through formal meetings, presentations, briefings, technical reports, and publications.
- Collect physiology and behavior data from human subjects, such as pulmonary endpoints, EKG/heart rate, and performance measures.
- Ph.D. in Physiology or a related scientific field or a Master's plus ten or more years in a related field and two or more years in physiology, with specific work in respiratory physiology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Proficiency in the use of common statistical analysis software, to include SigmaPlot, SPSS, and SAS.
- Strong technical writing background in writing research proposals, standard operating procedures, IRB protocols, technical reports, journal articles, and conference papers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ph.D. plus 2 years of relevant experience in human performance research in the area of physiology and respiratory effects.
- Experience in a military or medical research environment is highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience and success responding to research funding and grant requests for proposals.
