Position Summary:
About the Role
This role, reporting to the Instructional Designer III overseeing Educational Technology, is essential in supporting the instructional design team. The primary responsibilities include developing educational materials for online courses, ensuring quality standards, and monitoring project progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate received documents for editing and instructional accuracy
- Input approved content into the Canvas Learning Management System
- Design Canvas course elements, assignments, and interactive activities
- Assess learner interactions within course frameworks, including tasks and discussions
- Assist in the preparation of courses for deployment
Multimedia Development
- Create, adjust, and track modifications in documents using Microsoft Office Suite
- Enhance original PowerPoint designs and interactions to elevate instructional quality and user engagement
- Edit multimedia components such as images, audio, and video as required
- Transfer content from PowerPoint outlines into Articulate Storyline 360
- Oversee video transcription processes
- Ensure compliance with ADA standards for all course materials
Project Coordination
- Monitor and update tasks within the project management platform
- Communicate project statuses with supervisors and team members
Applicant Notes:
This position allows for remote work two days a week after a 60-day period in the department, with potential travel required. Candidates should be prepared to commence work within four weeks of receiving an official offer.
Compensation:
$27.30 per hour
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field along with two years of pertinent experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in online education, learning methodologies, instructional design, visual design, and the ability to collaborate effectively with instructional design teams. Adaptability and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with problem-solving abilities, are also important.
