Job Description

At Slocum-Dickson Medical Group, PLLC, we are seeking a skilled Medical Transcription Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Transcription Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany physicians into patient examination rooms to transcribe procedures and interactions.
  • List diagnoses, symptoms, and follow-up instructions as dictated by physicians.
  • Generate referral letters, manage medical documents, and assist with e-prescribing.
  • Order labs and studies as ordered by physicians.
  • Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 6 months of experience as a Medical Scribe preferred.
  • Excellent spelling and punctuation skills.
  • Ability to type 60 words per minute.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and effective work relationships.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light work level, requiring sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
  • May require lifting up to 10 pounds using proper body mechanics.
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.
