Job Summary:

Russell Tobin is currently seeking a proficient and knowledgeable Industrial Electrical Technician to become a vital part of our team. This position involves overseeing and executing the installation, modification, repair, and upkeep of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings, including motors, generators, fixtures, and various mechanical apparatus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and engage in intricate electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
  • Supervise team members by organizing schedules, assigning tasks, reviewing work, providing training, and assessing performance.
  • Maintain and adjust electrical systems as necessary.
  • Identify and resolve power failures and motor malfunctions.
  • Ensure the proper operation of electrical systems related to photoelectric cells, HVAC units, generators, and traffic monitoring devices.
  • Oversee the wiring of lighting control systems and related devices.
  • Plan and estimate costs for electrical installations and fixtures on various projects.
  • Transport tools and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of electrical principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with the functions and operations of electrical equipment.
  • Proficient in the tools and materials utilized for electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including the National Electrical Code.
  • Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is preferred.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic and repair tools for electrical systems.
  • Effective supervisory skills and techniques.
  • Ability to follow established protocols and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to plan, organize, and oversee work activities.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders and lifts.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to distinguish between different wire and cable colors.
  • Willingness to be on-call and available for emergency response, including non-standard hours.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
