Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the safe transportation of equipment to and from various customer job locations and stores. The incumbent will be involved in local hauling of equipment and supplies, as well as loading, unloading, and securing the equipment. Additionally, this role will assist with rolling cable, inventory assistance, helping load/unload customers, and various shop and/or yard activities when applicable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivers and picks up equipment for customers in a safe, timely, efficient, and courteous manner
  • Secures equipment by means of chaining, strapping, and blocking under the strict accordance and established procedures
  • Performs pre- and post- vehicle inspection; Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition, before, during, and after delivery trips
  • Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
  • Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs
  • Completes DOT required drivers daily log and trip sheets accurately and without misrepresentation
  • Performs basic troubleshooting involving malfunctioning equipment at job site and make minor repairs
  • Demonstrates proper and safe equipment usage to customer at the point of delivery
  • Obtains required signatures on rental contracts, pick up, and exchange forms
  • Assists with rolling cables, inventory assistance, load/unload customers and various shop and/or yard activities whenever required in a safe and efficient manner
Requirements:
  • Three years' driving experience preferred, with verifiable over-the-road experience operating combination commercial vehicles
  • High school or equivalent diploma preferred
  • Valid Driver's license with Class A CDL certification, DOT Physical Examination (Medical card)
  • Possess knowledge of and/or previous experience in driving delivery trucks, towing tandem axle utility trailers, and towable construction equipment, and operating safely within high-traffic or congested city zones and in small areas
