Nuclear Medicine Specialist Job Description

Texas Health Denton's Radiology Nuclear department is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Specialist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for explaining procedures to patients, positioning patients for exams, and operating and maintaining equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explains procedures to patients or guardians/family members prior to exams
  • Positions patients to correct anatomical areas of interest
  • Uses multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions to assess and recognize patients' emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions
  • Adjusts technical factors and operates, cares for, and maintains equipment
  • Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancements

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or nuclear medicine required
  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • 2 years of experience in nuclear medicine preferred
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Nuclear Medicine upon hire required
  • CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist NMTCB upon hire required
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist either by the TDH or TMB upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
