Position Overview:
MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Breast Imaging Specialist to enhance our team. This role requires a solid understanding of radiographic principles and proficiency in specialized mammography techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Breast Imaging Specialist, you will:
1. Conduct mammography examinations and assist with procedures such as needle biopsies, localizations, and aspirations.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and MedStar Health's operational standards.
3. Provide essential information to patients and their families regarding the procedures being performed, addressing any inquiries they may have.

Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with Patient Financial Associates to streamline the registration process for radiology exams, minimizing delays and ensuring patient safety.

Equipment Maintenance:
Assist in the maintenance of radiographic equipment, adhering to safety protocols and reporting any necessary repairs.

Workflow Management:
Ensure the timely completion of all imaging studies through effective tracking and management within the Radiology Information System (RIS) and other electronic records.

Professional Development:
Participate in training and orientation programs for new staff and students, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and adherence to Patient Safety Standards.

Qualifications:
- Completion of a Vocational/Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) with a focus on mammography to be obtained within one year of hire.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- A minimum of one year of experience in mammography is preferred.
