Position Summary

We are in search of a Security Operations Specialist II to enhance our team, contributing to our success through innovative problem-solving and intelligence.

The primary role of the Security Operations Specialist is to deliver comprehensive security assistance to a client's facility and organization. This position will oversee daily operations related to Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct classification assessments of incoming and outgoing communications.
  • Support the upkeep of a document accountability database and related correspondence.
  • Manage the processing of classified mail and maintain receipt records.
  • Oversee the destruction of classified documents.
  • Ensure accountability for magnetic media.
  • Provide reproduction support for classified documents.
  • Maintain various daily logs for administrative functions related to document control.
  • Assist in the processing of data transfers and inbound data.
  • Facilitate the transfer of electronic data files to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of customer points of contact.
  • Support the research, processing, filing, and maintenance of visit notices.
  • Escort visitors and maintain associated logs.
  • Assist in preparing facility access control badges.
  • Conduct entry and exit inspections.
  • Help maintain access control systems, including visitor management.
  • Perform data entry into the Personnel Access Security System database and keep all personnel access information current.
  • Assist in managing personnel security files for all personnel in the supported unit.
  • Adhere to and enforce the client's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support security awareness and educational initiatives.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as directed by the site lead or Senior Security Representative.
  • Monitor security clearance processing activities in collaboration with government personnel.
  • Participate in compliance inspections related to Air Force SAP security.
  • Implement Top Secret Control for accountable materials and related correspondence.
  • Prepare and process classified mail, faxes, courier packages, and receipts.
  • Review Program Access Requests (PARs) for accuracy and eligibility.
  • Execute Special Access Program Nomination Process Questionnaires.
  • Conduct reviews of candidates for SAP access through various security systems.
  • Perform data entry and record checks in the Air Force Access Data System (AFADS).
  • Conduct indoctrinations.
Qualifications:

Clearance Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
  • Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
  • Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years).
Certifications:
  • Completion of DoD SAPCO approved SAPNP training is required for personnel security functions.
