Job Overview

The sUAS Technician I plays a crucial role in supporting the production processes, assembly, quality assurance, and maintenance of all ASW small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) and their components. This position involves collaboration with the lead technician and fellow technicians to refine assembly methodologies. The technician will also liaise with the lead technician regarding parts procurement to ensure timely availability of components.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in the manufacturing and assembly of sUAS components and parts.

· Participate in the inspection and upkeep of sUAS components.

· Conduct basic preflight readiness checks for sUAS parts.

· Aid in quality assurance for all completed products.

· Support e-commerce initiatives related to parts distribution and sales.

· Identify and assist in sourcing materials for the bill of materials for finished products.

· Provide support to the flight team as required.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in packaging and shipping products.

· Familiarity with autopilot systems, particularly the Cubepilot ecosystem, including hardware, functionality, integration, troubleshooting, and programming.

· Certification as a forklift operator.

· Capability to manage and operate vehicles and trailers.

· Basic skills in manual machining, including milling and lathe operations.

· Knowledge of CNC operation and maintenance.

· Understanding of sUAS battery systems, including sizing, specifications, maintenance, and safety protocols for charging and discharging.

· General knowledge of aviation systems, including airspace and airport operations.

· Competence in sUAS operations.

· Awareness of sUAS regulatory frameworks.

· Basic understanding of CAD to CAM processes.

· Commitment to sUAS operational safety.
